Container Conversions in Cape Town

6Sigma Marine converts containers into workshops, offices, laboratories, control cabins, galleys, ablutions, stores and equipment housings for offshore, vessel and onshore use. Design, structural work, fit-out and painting are done in one Cape Town yard under one contract.

Special-purpose modules for offshore, vessel, port and site use, designed around how you will work in them.

6Sigma Marine converts containers into working spaces for offshore installations, vessels, ports and onshore sites. We handle the structural changes, insulation, doors and windows, services and fittings in our Cape Town yard, so the unit arrives ready to plug in and use. Offshore units can be built to DNV 2.7-1 / DNV-ST-E271 requirements, subject to project specification and third-party certification.

What a Conversion Includes

  • Layout drawing agreed with you before work starts
  • Structural openings, framing and reinforcement
  • Insulation and wall and ceiling panels, fire-rated where required
  • Doors, windows and personnel access
  • Electrical, lighting, HVAC, water and drainage as needed
  • Blasting and painting to your colour scheme (see blasting and painting in our Cape Town yard)
  • Testing, inspection and a handover pack with drawings and certificates

For offshore use, see our offshore-certified container shells, built to the project specification and certified by an independent body.

Onshore Units

The same build quality applies to units for ports, mines and construction sites, including site offices, workshops, ablutions and stores. Onshore units do not need offshore certification, which shortens lead times.

Why 6Sigma

Steelwork, fit-out, services and painting are done in one Cape Town yard under one contract. You brief one team, approve one drawing and deal with a single point of responsibility until the unit is delivered.
