Safety Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced offshore safety officer welder to join our team at 6Sigma Marine (Pty) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations and procedures are adhered to on the offshore drilling rig. The safety officer should have experience in safety management and be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures on the offshore drilling rig.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and safety concerns.
- Develop and implement safety programs and training for the rig crew.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain records and documentation related to safety incidents, inspections, and training.
- Work with the rig crew and management to promote a safety culture on the rig.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- South African permanent resident / citizen
- Relevant safety officer qualifications
- Relevant certifications, including:
- Trade qualifications
- OPITO Bosiet with CA EBS
- OGUK medical with more than 1-year validity
- Passport
- Yellow fever
- Covid vaccine
- Seaman book
