Rig Welder
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced offshore rig welder to join our team at 6Sigma Marine (Pty) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and repairing structures, pipes, and equipment on the offshore drilling rig. The rig welder should have experience in welding and be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld and repair structures, pipes, and equipment on the offshore drilling rig.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications.
- Perform various welding techniques.
- Ensure that welding work meets industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition.
- Work with the rig crew to identify welding needs and develop a plan of action.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- South African permanent resident / citizen
- Relevant rig welder qualifications
- Relevant certifications, including:
- Trade qualifications
- OPITO Bosiet with CA EBS
- OGUK medical with more than 1-year validity
- Passport
- Yellow fever
- Covid vaccine
- Seaman book
