Crane Operator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced crane operator to join our team at 6Sigma Marine (Pty) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining different types of cranes used in construction, manufacturing, and other industries. The crane operator should have experience in safely and efficiently lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate different types of cranes, including mobile cranes, tower cranes, and overhead cranes, to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.
- Inspect cranes before and after each use to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance on cranes such as lubricating gears and checking hydraulic systems.
- Communicate with ground crew and other workers to ensure safety and efficiency during lifting operations.
- Read and interpret load charts and rigging plans to determine the appropriate crane to use and the rigging methods required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations and maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- South African permanent resident / citizen
- Relevant crane operator qualifications
- Relevant certifications, including:
- Trade qualifications
- OPITO Bosiet with CA EBS
- OGUK medical with more than 1-year validity
- Passport
- Yellow fever
- Covid vaccine
- Seaman book
